Lift truck (forklift) and crane operators are widespread among many industries and the training of these Operators is Regulated under the Driven Machinery Regulations (DMR) into which a National Code of Practice (NCOP) has been written.
As a Regulated field, the requirements of the DMR and NCOP are compulsory. For this reason, it is important that all persons who are involved in the training of Lifting Machine Operators (LMO's) are familiar with the requirements specified in these publications. Let's all get some consistency in operation and understanding of these requirements to promote compliance and restrict illegal operations.
